Q: I cut one of my extension cords by running it over with my lawn mower.

The cord is a fairly new, 100 foot length, three wire cord that I use for yard tools. The repairs I made pull apart.

A: When dealing with electricity you should be extremely careful. If you are inclined to make electrical repairs and the cut it in the middle of the cord, you may want to make two electrical cords out of what you have.

Most hardware stores will have a heavy duty male and female replacement plug you can use for your cord. Follow the instructions on how to add the new male and female plugs to your cord. While you will end up with shorter cords, you will have a safer cord for your use.
