Many insurance companies are now offering some form of identity theft insurance along with a homeowner’s insurance policy. If you want to know if your insurance company offers it, call your company or agent directly.

Here are some companies offering ID Theft Insurance:
State Farm (www.statefarm.com), Allstate (www.allstate.com) , Farmer’s (www.farmers.com), Chubb (www.chubb.com), and MetLife (www.metlife.com).

I used to think that you shouldn’t pay for identity theft insurance because you can fix this on your own. But if your company is going to offer it for free, or offer services for an extra $40 a year, it might be worth it.
