Your Social Security Check Is Going Up 3.3 Percent

I missed this in the craziness of the week (and coming back from Inman’s Miami Connect), but the Social Security Administration announced seniors will be getting a 3.3 percent boost in their paychecks.

Unless you’re only buying $4 prescriptions from Wal-Mart, that increase won’t be enough to cover health insurance increases, higher gas prices, higher energy costs, etc. But what the heck, it’s at least higher than you might have expected.

Read the press release from the SSA.gov website: www.ssa.gov/pressoffice/pr/2007cola-pr.htm.
