Typical Broker Commission Rates

It is my understanding that the commissions in the real estate note brokering industry range from 2 to 8 percent of the transaction amount. Is this right? I welcome your thoughts/comments at your convenience.

A: The average commission is about 5.1 percent. If the house is difficult to sell (or the agent perceives it will be), you’ll typically pay a higher commission.
