Stock Markets in Europe, Asia Fall on U.S. Unemployment Report with Ilyce Glink on the Clark Howard Show July 7, 2011:

It’s clear the that unemployment crisis in the U.S. is having an impact on the rest of the world. The failure to create any jobs in August 2011 sent markets reeling across the globe. Everyone from Main Street to Shanghai is wondering if America is on the verge of a double dip recession.

It certainly doesn’t help that stalwart government institutions don’t seem to be able to get their act together. The U.S. Post Office is looking at a  possible default, after posting a $9.2 billion budgetary shortfall. The entity has begun closing offices across the country, which will put more Americans out of work. Could the unthinkable happen and the Post Office is forced to close next year? 560,000 employees certainly hope not.

More members of the middle class, squeezed by flat incomes, falling home values, a lack of credit and scarce job opportunities are falling into homelessness. Could this happen to you?

We discuss these topics, and answer your other real estate and personal finance questions on this edition of the Clark Howard Show with Ilyce Glink.
