Today Ilyce Glink talks about home improvement projects that add value to your home and pay for themselves.

If you’re going to spend your hard-earned cash fixing up your home, you’ll want to get the biggest bang for your buck. But do you know which home improvement project has the biggest payoff?

Remodeling Magazine routinely looks at the top home improvement projects and their expected payoff.

In the new 2013 survey, it turns out that replacing your front door has the biggest payoff. If you spend $1,000, you can expect a return of about $850, if you sell your home within a year of the remodel.

Other remodeling projects with a top payback include adding a deck, switching out your garage door, modernizing your kitchen, rehabbing your basement, remodeling your bathroom, building a garage, replacing your roof, and creating your home office.
