Learning how to incorporate the new Obamacare guidelines into your small business can be a complicated and time-consuming process. But you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Experts will be available to share information and answer questions at the “Obamacare Essentials for Small Business Owners” seminar on November 22nd, presented by WGN Radio & Country Financial. Hosted by Ilyce Glink, the event will help get you past the politics and teach you what you really need to know about the new Affordable Care Act.
“The Affordable Care Act is a complicated piece of legislation and there are a whole bunch of decisions small business owners need make in order to follow the letter of the law,” Glink notes.
“We have invited some of the smartest, most knowledgeable healthcare experts from the Chicago area to take part in this information-packed half-day event. And, all attendees will have the opportunity to pose their own questions directly to these experts without worrying that they’ll end up in some sort of sales funnel,” Glink explains, adding “The whole point of the day is to help small business owners clear confusion.”
Health care journalist and expert Alison Szot will be one of the panelists. “Small businesses in particular could be vulnerable to fees or miss out on some of the financial incentives that are included in the law,” says Szot.
Resources are available to help with the transition, but Szot says that delays and political rhetoric have made it difficult for small business owners, who are already stretched thin, to sit down and find the helpful information they need.
Health care business reporter Bruce Japsen will also speak at the seminar. He agrees that the political banter is a major issue which hinders small businesses from being able to navigate it freely. “The health law offers challenges but also opportunities, particularly if small firms have never offered their workers coverage before,” he says.
The half-day seminar will be “a great use of time for small business owners. You can compress the learning required and start making smart decisions for yourself, your employees and your business,” says Szot.
Attendees will hear from a group of knowledgeable experts as they provide general guidance about what the Affordable Care Act is, what it requires of small business owners, the decisions small business owners need to make and next steps they should take in order to comply with the Obamacare mandates.
