After energy inspectors Michael Lotesto and David Richmond left my house yesterday, we went on with the business of work, feeding the kids, and closing down the house for the night.
This morning, it was 53F in my office. Why? Michael and David had had me shut off the two furnaces in the house in order to do the Blower Door test. And, we never turned them back on.
At 6:00am this morning, my son, Alex, yelled out that there must be something wrong with the hot water heaters. Yup, they forgot to turn them back on as well.
I suppose the good news is that we're seeing what it would be like to live heat-free. 57F in the bedrooms and 53F in my office. Lucky for us it wasn't a more typical Chicago winter night.
