I had lunch today with Kay Kamin, the Financial Editor for Today's Chicago Woman (an excellent monthly tabloid newspaper - www.tcwmag.com). She is also an attorney, with a PhD. in Education. And, she's a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) - one of my favorite financial planning designations.

We spent a long time talking about the current state of the average consumer's bill of wealth. She's concerned not that many people -- particularly women -- are learning how to figure out their net worth or are putting away enough for retirement.

She says that when she takes on a client, they become like a family member. She is an enormously bright and compassionate woman -- and she charges by the hour!

Finding a financial planner who cares as much about your money as you do is rare. But that's exactly what you want.
