It was raining cats and dogs in Charlotte this morning. I woke in my Marriott City Center hotel room to the pitter pat of rain streaking across the window. I had been told we were going to have a warm, sunny day. Luckily, I brought my trusty black Gap raincoat.

This week is a heavier-than-usual travel week at Think Glink. I was in Dallas to shoot a webinar that I hope will soon be up on the website (that's the new-and-improved version and our new ETA is Mid-May).

I went to Charlotte yesterday to attend the National Association of Real Estate Editors Annual convention. The last session of the day yesterday dealt with Active Adults -- the 55 and older population that companies like Del Webb (a unit of Detroit-based Pulte) are targeting with their Sun City single family home developments. I'll blog a bit more on that tomorrow, but overall, the numbers are staggering. Del Webb is building 20,000 units a year (Pulte builds about 50,000 units per year) and most of those are for Active Adult communities. The average size house is about 1,800 square feet and sells for around $300,000.

This Sunday, I head to Minneapolis for the annual conference for the Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW). It'll be packed with great information and I will have my laptop with me so I can blog from the conference floor.

My only regret is that these two worthy journalism conferences run back-t0-back. There's just not enough time in the day.
