I'm often asked how to figure out whether to go with one insurance company or another. I give the standard answer:
- Check them out at Moody's (www.moodys.com), Duff & Phelps (www.duffandphelps.com), AM Best (www.ambest.com), Fitch (www.fitch.com), Standard & Poors (www.standardandpoors.com) and JD Power (www.jdpower.com)
- Don't forget to look at complaints at the Better Business Bureau
- www.insure.com has insurance rankings as well
Here's another, very interesting website you might want to check out: www.badfaithinsurance.org/indexdetaillist.html
For the moment, you might want to take it with a grain of salt, but it sure has interesting claims-paying information.
