Blog: Today on the Ilyce Glink Show - July 19, 2009
Added July 19, 2009 by Ilyce R. GlinkSummary: Today on the Ilyce Glink Show, Ilyce talked with Ed Delgado, a Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo, Stacey Bradford, a blogger for MoneyWatch.com and author of the new book, the Wall Street Journal Financial Guidebook for New Parents, and John Wasik, Bloomberg Columnist and author of the new book, The Cul-de-Sac Syndrome.
A Conversation with Ed Delgado, Wells Fargo
Every week, we have listeners who call the show to ask how to work better with lenders. They have trouble getting lenders to respond to loan modification requests, or hear that they have to be delinquent to get help (you don't!).
I asked Ed Delgado, a Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo to join me on the show today to talk about loan modifications, lenders, and what's going right and what they could be doing better. Ed works in the regulatory affairs division and spends much of his time in Washington, D.C. working with, and testifying in front of the Senate Banking Committee. Wells Fargo was one of the first big lenders to jump on board to President Obama's Making Home Affordable program.
It's a fascinating conversation. Please leave comments here.
Stacey Bradford, MoneyWatch.com Blogger, and Author of the Wall Street Journal Guidebook for New Parents
Stacey and I blog together on MoneyWatch.com. She blogs about family finances and I blog about real estate and home equity. You may recognize Stacey from SmartMoney.com, where she worked for around 10 years. She's now pregnant with her second child and in far different circumstances than with her first pregnancy, when she was able to negotiate 6 months of baby leave and then work part-time. The book is full of useful information, written well, and just interesting to read. You can check out the book here, and read Stacey's MoneyWatch.com blog here.
John Wasik, Bloomberg Columnist, and Author of the Cul-de-Sac Syndrome
John and I go way back. He writes a very well-read column on personal finances at Bloomberg. He has written a bunch of books. This one looks at the housing crisis, how we got here and what we need to do to get out of it. The title refers to cul-de-sacs that developers create when they build subdivisions. If you want to know about the housing crisis, John has been on the front lines covering it. The book is a great read. Find information about the book here and read John's column at Bloomberg.com.
