New Home Sales Rise In February, Commerce Dept. Says
Sales of new single-family homes rose in February, up 4.7 percent from January, announced the Commerce Department today.
The increase is based on sales of an estimated 337,000 homes in February, up from 322,000 in January. But it's still declined more than 41 percent since February 2008.

Home Sales Increase In February, NAR Says
Existing home sales rose by 5.1 percent in February as compared with January, announced the National Association of Realtors this morning.
But they fell 4.6 percent from February 2008.

February 2009 Housing Starts Increase
The number of new private home construction projects rose by 22 percent last month as compared with January. But they fell by 47 percent as compared with one year ago.
The number of building permits issued increased by 3 percent compared with January. But they fell by 44 percent since February 2008.

Freddie Mac Shares At 42 Cents
