Buy New Car Or Fix The Old?

Q: At the end of the year, I heard you talking on your radio show about your trying to decide between buying a car or getting your old car fixed. What was the decision? Thanks.

A: Thanks for your interest. The car turned out to have several additional problems. So, instead of spending almost as much money fixing the car as it was worth, we traded it in for $2,700 and bought a new Honda Accord.

We went to CarMax to get the sales price and the dealer matched it. So far, the car still smells like new!
