On this week’s Ilyce Glink Show on WSB Radio, Ilyce discussed how and where to be smart when buying a home.
With mortgage interest rates on the rise, homebuyers need to be smart and strategic when shopping for homes. Ilyce said the game to play right now is getting a 15-year loan, rather than a 30-year loan. Reason being, there is a 1 percent difference between the two. Right now a 30-year loan is at 4.5 percent, and a 15-year loan is at 3.5 percent. Ilyce said not to hesitate. If you can qualify for the loan, buy the house and pay it off. You will only have to worry about paying a mortgage for 15 years.
