I’ll be filling in for Clark for the remainder of this week. You can listen live from 1p to 4p EST by going to www.wsbradio.com. Or, we’ll post the shows as quickly as we can you can listen to them online at www.thinkglink.com, or by downloading them at www.iTunes.com.

On today’s show:

  • Every year, the outplacement firm of Challenger, Gray and Christmas offers two free days of advice to the public. Every phone line is manned, and anyone can call in and ask questions about finding a job, negotiating for a job or a raise, or get other kinds of information. The Challenger national free job-search advice call-in takes place Wednesday, December 27, and Thursday, December 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST. The job search number is 312-332-5790. The phone lines are incredibly busy, but keep trying and hopefully you’ll get through.

  • Some late-year financial planning moves that should help make next April 15th a bit nicer of a day. Today’s tip: Don’t buy or sell any mutual funds through the end of the year (funds are now making their distributions). And, if you have some big gains and possibly some big losses, now is the time to rebalance. Sell some of your losers in order to balance out some of your winners to avoid paying capital gains tax.

  • Verizon wireless announced it will now allow the placement of banner ads on new, weather, sports and other Internet sites that users visit and display on their mobile phones. Read all about it at http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/26/business/media/26adco.html.

I hope you can join us for the show.
