The 2012 Presidential election is coming, but can either candidate help us avoid falling off a fiscal cliff? Will we fall into Great Recession Part 2? And as usual, providing personal finance advice, real estate advice and consumer advice on the Ilyce Glink Show on September 30, 2012 at 12:00 Eastern Time on WSB Radio.

We are five weeks and two days away from the 2012 Presidential election. This is a point of concern for us all. There’s so much at stake. A series of debates between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney kickoff this week. There will be three total in October.

The thing I don’t know that we’ll really understand after the debates is what either candidate can and will do about the fiscal cliff we are rushing toward at the end of this year. This is the pivot point that will determine whether or not we fall into Great Recession Part 2.

I’ve been feeling like we’ve been on a knife’s edge now for a long time. You can learn more about why I fear we’re headed toward Great Recession Part 2 in my show notes for the week.

For a non-recession year, 2012 has been rough. The numbers are telling: unemployment, relative stagnation for homeowners and the housing market, a decline in manufacturing. The list goes on.

Will we know more about what the immediate future holds after this week’s coming debate? Stay tuned.
